Wobble Sprint Series (WSS)

What is WSS?

WSS (Wobble Sprint Series) is a 5 week series in which you will visit different Zwift worlds with route distances ranging between 12-30 km.

You gain points when you go through sprint or K/QOM segments. These start where you cross either green dotted lines -sprints, or red dotted lines -K/QOMs. A box will appear on the left hand side of the screen when you are nearly at a segment to give additional warning that you are approaching a timed element.

This is a chance for both new and experienced Zwifters to have fun but also experience a league series, unlike your traditional one off Crit or Scratch Race.

How to gain points :

Points are awarded for each category A, B, C, D and E as fastest time through segment (FTS) and position crossing under the banner and at the finish line (FAL). Sprint points are awarded as follows:FTS and FAL 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, & 1. These efforts are also called Primes, and the race notes will detail which Primes will award you points. FAL through the finish is awarded 50 - 2 with all other finishers gaining 1 point.

To win the race - simply get more points than your competitors.

How to race a sprint points race:

Sit in the pack and sprint each prime; after the effort, regroup and use the draft to conserve energy for the next segment. Know where your sprints are in advance and look at how long the segment is so you can time your effort to your strengths.

It is possible to win a sprint points race by just being the fastest through the segments when there are multiple passes through a segment on a multi lap race.

The league will use the traditional Zwift categorisations with the following:

‘Category enforcement examines a Zwifter’s historical performances based on power curve data and then identifies the best minimum pace group they can join for a race. Heart Rate Monitor are required

Points System

Each Race will have Race Day points for General Finishing Position and any Primes.

RACE DAY Results will then be converted into LEAGUE RESULTS with first place getting 20 points and so on.

It is all 5 races count.
